| Small Business Awards Program Initiated |
The Bozeman Chamber and the Bozeman Daily Chronicle are pleased to present a new program this year to recognize the very best small businesses in Bozeman. The Bozeman Chamber will be forwarding the honored businesses to the Montana Small Business Administration for its annual awards program. Categories include Small Business of the Year, Exporter of the Year and Young Entrepreneur. These awards will be given out at the 12th Annual Business Expo on Oct. 22 (see article below).
The Woman's Small Business of the Year will be recognized at the Chronicle’s Women’s Expo Oct. 3. | Project Homeless |
| The Bozeman Job Service Center and 20 other agencies is coordinating "Project Homeless Connect." This is a national event, providing essential needs and resources to the nation's homeless population. On Saturday, September 19th from 8:30 - 3:30 at the Presbyterian Church (corner of Willson and Olive), the second Project Homeless Connect will be presented in Bozeman. The MSU College of Business is hosting its Management Institute Executive Education Seminar Friday, October 16th from 8 a.m. to 4:30 pm at Riverside Country Club. The session is titled "Conflict to Collaboration: Managing People, Not Problems"
College of Business faculty member Scott Bryant, Ph.D. will be leading this experiential exploration of conflict and the tools needed to leverage conflict within organizations. Topics include an examination of interpersonal sources of conflict (e.g., emotional intelligence, perceptions, personal experiences, generation gaps) as well as structural sources of conflict (e.g., teams, sexual harassment, scarce resources, different goals, and layoffs).
