|
| May 26 QUICK POLL Results |
| How did the 61st Legislature do on business issues? Not real well, according to the Chamber members who took our recent QuickPoll. Our "teacher" members gave below average grades on business regulations and work comp reform, but 30 percent gave a failing grade for 'working together across party lines,' and another 32 percent scored it a D. See all the results and comments here. |

Tear Off Map Advertising Opportunity
The Tear-Off Map is one of the staples of the BACC because it is distributed all over town, and is a form of advertising for our members. With 50,000 copies produced annually, this 8 1/2 x 14-inch map gets visitors to the most popular destinations. We are in production now, with advertising spaces available. This map sells out fast, so call Abby at 586-5421 quickly if you want to be on the map. It will be available in early July.
Important Note about City Maps
Hometown Publications is currently calling Bozeman businesses selling ads in a city map. It is important to point out that this map will not be available at the Chamber office. There are only 3,000 printed in 1 color, while the Chamber produces 50,000 4-color maps. If you are contacted by Hometown Publications, you may want to review their reliability report with the Better Business Bureau.
There are many companies that call and say they are printing a city map. They may even represent that the maps will be available at the Chamber of Commerce office or even 'supported' by the Chamber. Please do your homework - most of these companies are calling from out-of-state. They print an inferior product (out of state) and provide many fewer copies. Remember - BE LOCAL, BUY LOCAL! Thank you to those of you who support the Chamber's two maps.

Help MSU Students Dress For Success
Montana State University's College of Business is teaming up with almost all of the College of Business clubs across the nation in launching an ambitious service project this summer and early fall. We are calling this project, "The Executive's Closet." The goal is to acquire "gently used executive clothing" from anywhere we can. We will set up the Executive Closet in the Bracken Center, and distribute the clothes, Sept. 10th and 11th, in hopes to bring more professionalism to the students who cannot afford to buy new, professional clothing. Info: Linda Ward ,assistant director of the Bracken Center, at 994-1995. Donations are tax deductible.
