We love movies because they invite us to step outside ourselves and sail away for a little while. That's the essence of Filmfest. From acclaimed independent features to timely documentaries to new previews with headliner talent, this great film program and the glorious autumn leaves have been bringing filmmakers and film lovers together for six “film-filled” days for over 30 years! This year’s Filmfest runs September 29th – October 3rd. Opening night celebrates the 70th anniversary of John Lennon’s birth with a very special sneak preview of the film “Nowhere Boy,” followed by a concert of the Quarrymen, the band that Lennon formed prior to the Beatles. The film chronicles his young life and depicts the events and personal circumstances that led to the formation of the Beatles and shaped the creative and inspirational qualities that became the man.
