WindWalkers Receives Blue Tent Giving Tree Grant

We’re excited to announce that the Blue Tent Giving Tree Committee recently awarded a $3,000 grant to the Roaring Fork Valley’s Windwalker's Equine Assisted Therapy and Learning Center. Read below for more about how our grant will help this dynamic organization.

Thank you for your generous gift to WindWalkers! We are truly grateful for the support from Blue Tent and the Giving Tree program.

WindWalkers is a therapeutic riding program located at Cedar Ridge Ranch in Carbondale. Founded in 2005, we currently see 40+ riders from throughout the Roaring Fork Valley ages 3 to 64! Therapeutic riding has a wide range of benefits; physical, emotional, social, educational, and behavioral.

WindWalkers has a unique, family-centered approach to therapeutic riding, siblings ride together, mom’s ride with children and we pair riders with peers to work on social issues. Our mission is: WindWalkers ~ where horses and caring professionals help families and individuals with challenges to grow and thrive

The gift from Blue Tent’s Giving Tree will be used to support scholarships for our riders in both the summer unit that has just ended and the upcoming fall unit. Only about 1/3 of our clients are able to pay the session fees; the other 2/3 receive scholarship assistance ranging from $30 to $70 per session. This gift combined with support from other donors will go a long way in helping our riders.
